Stokesley FC |
Stokesley Junior FC was founded in 1991 by a father who was persuaded by one of his sons to enter a team in a local junior football league.
We now have twelve teams from Under 8’s to Under 18’s playing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance and regular Under 7’s coaching sessions.
We were awarded Charter Standard Community Club status in 2002 and were one of the first three clubs in the North Riding area to achieve this honour. We are still one of only nine Community Clubs in the North Riding County F.A area.
Teesside Junior Football Alliance Club of the Year in 2004 which was a fantastic achievement, with the award being made at the annual Presentation Evening at the Tall Trees in Yarm.
Based at Stokesley Sports Club which was redeveloped in 2003 at a cost of £1.4 million, we share the site with North Riding County F.A.
We have access to three full sized, one youth and three mini soccer pitches complete with changing rooms, catering facilities and a club house.
Our aim to offer competitive football and a high standard of coaching to all players and hopefully see them progress through the junior age groups and into our senior football section who have teams in the Northern, Teesside, Stokesley and District, Hambleton Combination and Northern Women’s Leagues.
Very few other clubs in the area are able to offer this progression and it is always sad to see young players leave Stokesley for other clubs knowing that they will eventually want to return if they wish to continue playing football.
We want the players to enjoy the game and our coaching is all about getting the players to perform at their highest ability, some clubs are always looking for better players, rather than trying to improve the ability level of the players they already have.
We have Stokesley players at Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Darlington football academies and have also had players at Newcastle. It’s good to see players progress to higher levels such as these and all our coaches are very proud of the clubs achievements.
We currently have about 220 junior members which is great when you consider how small our catchment area is and that we are in competition with other local clubs.
All coaches are F.A qualified, some to UEFA ‘B’ level and all are CRB checked to ensure a safe environment for the players.
